Sharing God’s love through song.
Gifti Paulos, a radiant voice within the Oromo community in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, is quickly becoming the most sought-after songstress for graduations, weddings, anniversaries, worship conferences, and various church gatherings.
Her journey in music began in childhood when she was captivated by the magic of Disney movies and how their soundtracks made her feel. From there, the gift of song became a natural extension of Gifti's communication with the world. Soon after, her choir director recognized this gift by selecting Gifti to sing a solo in church, in which Gifti could share the joy and warmth she felt through music publicly for the first time. Through song, she found the deepest form of self-expression and a unique ability to touch people with her voice. While singing along with beloved animated characters, Gifti discovered a passion for bringing joy to people through music—a gift that has only deepened with time.
Born to an Oromo family of Ethiopian descent and raised in Maryland, Gifti's connection to her cultural heritage is as profound as inspiring. Gifti grew up embracing the traditions of her heritage and the sounds of black gospel music, a blend that inspires her unique sound and perspective. Always grounded in her roots, this duality has allowed her to blend soulful melodies with both cultures' joyful rhythms and vocal styles, creating an experience that resonates with all who hear her sing.
In 2010, while pursuing a Master's in Public Health, she realized her true calling lay in the arts. By 2011, she began vocal training and explored other forms of creative expression, which landed her in the North Dekalb Idol competition. She secured third place and strengthened her relationship with the arts.
Gifti's passion led her to the stage in 2012, where she performed as The Voice of Broken in the acclaimed gospel musical Broken at the 14th Street Playhouse. After that, she expanded her presence in the creative arts, becoming a model for major natural hair brands, including 3 Sisters of Nature, African Pride, and Nairobi Professional Hair Products.
Deeply committed to her faith, Gifti views her talent as a gift from God, using it to uplift others and bring the spirit of the Lord to life at each event she performs. Her audiences describe her voice as "angelic," adding a divine presence to every occasion. Alongside her musical career, Gifti is also an accomplished patient relations professional at an esteemed local hospital. There, she is known for her dedication, warmth, and compassion. Whether supporting patients or sharing her gift of song, Gifti Paulos lives with a heart full of service and a commitment to spreading love through every note.
